Abigail's Story

The past four years I have been a three sport NCAA DII athlete for my university. I am a long distance runner and compete in the 5k/ 6k year round, as well as the 3k during indoor track season.

I fell in love with sport at a young age, but I never had the coordination to be a real competitor in sports like basketball, softball, or soccer. So tasked with finding something to fill my free time with: I chose running. At first, I hated running because if we’re being honest who doesn’t? But I soon realized that running was something I was good and by my senior year of high school I was the captain of the cross-country team and a key member of the track team. I decided to run in college to follow my passion for running and meet like-minded individuals. Throughout my athletic career I have learned the importance of nutrition and that fueling your body with the right food makes you stronger, faster, and happier.

I have learned many lessons from being an athlete that are applicable to everyday life. Running has shaped me into the person that I am today and has connected me with life long friends.
